A collective identity is a group of entities that share or are motivated by at least on common interest. 'Identity is who you are, how you see yourself, how others se you, appearance, attributes, experiences, clothing, rituals.'
area's that make up ones collective identity are:
-Gender
-Ethnicity
-Religion
-Nationality
-Age
-Sexuality
-Social class
-Disability
-Celebrity
-Family
-Education
They all influence who you are and your collective identity.
David Buckingham (2008)
describes identity as something that distinguishes us from other people. however it also implies a relationship with boarder collective identities or social group, people with the same interests for example will be similar because of this shared interest however their other interests and beliefs will make them individuals.
This contratdiction makes identity complicated to define.

Clip Analysis
In this clip Quentine Tarintino uses the exact effect i wish to use in my short film. He uses the undiegetic sound of Enrico Morricones music from the good the bad and the ugly to create an effect of increasing tension before an inevitable fight scene.
Plan for this week.
My plan for this week is to complete a more specific story bopard so i can start to do some filming. I will need to take and decide on the most suitable locations. I should also be starting to think more about the magazine page that i haven't yet covered in my blog.

Post modern media
Post modern media is the idea that the media reality is now the new reality. As we no long can distinguish between the things that are real and images of things that are real and real experiences and simulation of them. Represenations are re interpreted and changed through pastiche, by paying homeage to another media text, parodys and intertexual references. Some directors don't try and hide the fact the media text is constructed, deliberately exposing the text as constructed to tell the audience that the piece is not real and it never pretends to be real at any point. Quintine Tarintino does this in his film 'Kill Bill' were the exaggerated blood spraying and body dismemberment shows the audience this is not real. Some of the camera shots also reveal the location as a film set for example a over head shot of two of the characters in seperate rooms with the camera positioned over the conjoining wall. 4:27-8:02
